NIAONiao Virtual Singer (袅袅虚拟歌手), often shortened to NIAONiao (袅袅), was a free Chinese-originated vocal synthesis program developed by DSoundSoft released in January of 2012. It was discounted sometime in late July of 2024.[1]
History[]
NIAONiao is a China-orginated vocal synthesizer program that supports user-created voicebanks. Before it's cancelation, DSound announced NIAONiao 3.0. NIAONiao 3.0 was in BETA and it is likely discontinued. Every version of the editor comes with Yu NiaoNiao's original voicebank. The website is no longer updated, and instructs users to check the official AISingers website for new singer updates. Sometime in late July 2024, the NIAONiao website was discounted and dsoundsoft.com redirects to aisingers.com.[1]
File Types[]
NIAONiao's original file format is named "*.nn". NIAONiao can import *.mid/*.midi (Also known as SMFs), *.ust (Project files for UTAU) and *.vsqx files (Project files for VOCALOID3).
NIAONiao to AISingers[]
Default Vocals[]
Default vocals such as Yu NiaoNiao, and Mu Yao were given upgrades to the original AISingers engine. Another default vocal, Mu Qing, was said to release, but ended up being cancelled. NiaoNiao and Yao were updated to AISingers Studio.
Third Party[]
Many Third Party vocals ended up getting upgraded to the AISingers Engines.
Si Qinghua[]
Si Qinghua's NIAONiao voicebank released on November 16 of 2013. Qinghua was upgraded the original AISingers on May 29 of 2020. She was upgraded to AISingers Studio.
Lian Hua[]
Singer Y, suspected to be Lian Hua, was released for NIAONiao March 9 of 2014, with Chinese and Japanese voicebanks. Hua was suspected to release for the original AISingers under Singer Y, but was later cancelled when AISingers Studio released, cancelling out the prior announcement.
Huiyi Qian[]
Singer H, suspected to be Huiyi Qian, was released for NIAONiao April 22 of 2018, with a Chinese voicebank. Huiyi was suspected to release for the original AISingers under Singer H, but was later cancelled when AISingers Studio released, cancelling out the prior announcement.
Xia Yezi[]
Xia Yezi's original NIAONiao voicebank released on August 29 of 2015. Her append voicebank released a little bit over a year later, releasing October 5 of 2016. Yezi was upgraded to AISingers Studio.
